An oldest Christian Cemetery in Penang was located at Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah there was a special cross tombstone carved a word $. Our sister Eng Ing pointed to the cross tombstone and said: “look! only money!”.
I do not know that tombstone original meaning; somebody feels that it is very worldliness because money always belongs to tacky. But I found that it is a very special wisdom because that moment it makes me to think about “The relationship between money and Christians”
“The relationship between money and Christians” make me recall to Luke chapter 16 verse 19 to 22, the relationship between a rich man and a beggar Lazarus. The tombstone “money” reminds that Christians do not like the rich man lived in luxury every day and do not like beggar Lazarus longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. A rich Lazarus to preaching Gospel is better than beggar Lazarus. A lot of money do not like the rich man lived in luxury every day, no money do not like beggar longing to get other people’s money. Death is the final destination rich and poor, the difference is believed in Jesus or not, you believe Jesus yet.
